No subcontracting — every stage below was carried out by our certified installers, start to finish.
The home was in the construction phase with exterior sheathing already installed and prepared for the exterior cladding system. We had to a lot of corrections on the exterior sheathing.
A 3-foot gap between the house and the fence line limited scaffolding options on the east elevation, requiring a staged ladder-and-platform approach
Work had to be carefully sequenced around framing completion, window installation timing, and coordination with other trades working on the building envelope to ensure proper integration of the stucco system.

A drainage-based EIFS system (DUROCK PUCCS) was used, which includes integrated drainage channels within the insulation board. This creates a continuous drainage path behind the exterior finish and supports proper moisture management within the wall assembly.
Modern exterior wall design in Ontario typically requires a controlled drainage layer behind the cladding. Unlike traditional solid stucco assemblies, a drainage system allows any incidental moisture within the wall to move downward and exit at the base of the wall instead of remaining trapped against the sheathing.
Stucco is installed after the exterior sheathing and primary wall framing are complete, and once doors and windows are installed. It is coordinated with the general contractor so it integrates properly with the building envelope sequence before final exterior finishes are completed.
Drainage EIFS systems are designed as a complete exterior cladding assembly. While no system is completely maintenance-free, routine visual inspections of sealant joints and exterior finishes are recommended as part of standard building upkeep.
