Scarborough Winter Stucco Installation for New Custom Home

In this project, we installed exterior stucco on every surface of a brand-new custom house in Scarborough, tackling the challenge of winter weather. We used tarping and heating techniques to protect the work area and ensure the stucco set correctly, despite the cold temperatures.

This approach allowed us to deliver a smooth, durable stucco finish that not only adds beauty to the residence but also offers enhanced insulation properties. The meticulous application process ensured that the stucco adhered well and would withstand the harsh Canadian weather, providing the homeowners with a maintenance-friendly and aesthetically pleasing exterior.

02 - SCOPE OF WORK

What was actually done

No subcontracting — every stage below was carried out by our certified installers, start to finish.

03 - CHALLENGES

What we ran into on site

The home was in the construction phase with exterior sheathing already installed and prepared for the exterior cladding system. We had to a lot of corrections on the exterior sheathing.

A 3-foot gap between the house and the fence line limited scaffolding options on the east elevation, requiring a staged ladder-and-platform approach

Work had to be carefully sequenced around framing completion, window installation timing, and coordination with other trades working on the building envelope to ensure proper integration of the stucco system.
